Commercials I think that some of the commericals that they show on tv are so stupid. There are a few funny ones, for example, I really like the snickers commercial where there's this dog-like mascott thing (named Sparky, I think..?) works at an amusement park. He was very grumpy towards everyone, but I don't think that he was hungry for a snickers as the commercial narrator suggested. I think that he was just tired of working with the public and dealing with their ignorance. Which is understandable. I currently work at a fast food place, and the only reason why I'm even nice to some of the people who walk in is because I get paid $5.50 an hour to be nice and polite. But anyway, I do see some good commercials, but most of them are just...disturbing. For example, why in the hell do they avertize herpes antibiotic medicine on television? And the commercials are so stupid too; it shows people's confessions about their herpe problem. They just ruined their reputation right there; now everybody knows that they have herpes. But it's really funny when they mention the side effects; the narrator is like, "the side affects for this medication is dizziness, diarrhea, and adominal pain.." and it just shows these people smiling, staying positive, and enjoying their things in their lives. While they have diarrhea. The side effects of some medication are worse than whatever's wrong with you. You're probably better off without the medicine. I can't stand the commercials that condone smoking. For example, thetruth.com and their commercials. There all like, "cigarettes contain the same ingredients that are in rat poison and in dog crap, and it's the leading cause of death and blah blah blah." Please. You can get cancer from other things other than smoking. My grandmother had cancer, and she never drank or smoked. What about all of the pollutants in our air? Those cause cancer, but no one is making a commercial about air pollution, are they? And becides, most of the stuff they say isn't entirely based on fact. They're just a bunch of morons, in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I am aware that you can get cancer from smoking, but it isn't the leading cause of cancer. I don't smoke, personally, but it isn't because I'm afraid of catching cancer or anything like that. Like I said, I can catch cancer from tons of other things, not just cigarettes. The reason that I don't smoke is because cigarettes are too freaken expensive, and buying 1 or 2 packs a day can really eat up your money. There's this one car commercial that I think is sort of retarded. There's this Saturn commercial where this one college kid is packing up his things in his car; like his desk, his bookcase, T.V. stand, etc., only it's all milkcrates. Well, if he didn't buy an expensive car like that, he would have enough money to buy that stuff. Okay, I guess this ends my rant about stupid commericals. I think that I just watch too much T.V...=^_^=. |
