FF Character Pronounciation Page

Okay, I hear a lot of people say the character's names of the FF series wrong all of the time, so I decided to make this page for the completely illiterate...but the sad thing is, they won't know how to read this page...

I warn you, these aren't full proof. I am not an expert in pronounciation or whatever, but I do know that the way most people say these names are wrong. For example, Aeris' name isn't said like the zodiac sign, Aires. So this page is just for the completely clueless, so that they can say the names at least half way right =^_^=.

These are some character's names that I most frequently hear pronounced wrong.

FF7 Characters

Cloud - As in a cloud in the sky.
Tifa - "Tea-" as in the drink, and then "-fah." You have to say it really fast for it to sound right.
Barret - "Bare-" as in bare naked, and then "-it."
Aeris - "Air-" as in what you breathe, and then "-is."
Nanaki - "Nana-" as in what you would call your nanny, and then "-kie", which sounds like "pie," but only with a "k" in front.
Yuffie - "Yuff-" that sounds like "Duff" beer in the Simpsons, only with a "Y" in front, and then "-fee."
Sephiroth - "Sef-" then "-er", and then "-oth", as in..uh..."broth" in "chicken broth" without the "b."

FF8 Characters

Rinoa - "Ren-" then "-no" and then, "-ah."
Seifer - "Sef-" and then "-er." It's like the beginning of Sephiroth's name.
Quistis - "Kis-" and then "-tis." My friend Angie actually told me that one =^_^=.
Selphie - "Cell-" and then "-fee."

FF9 Characters

Zidane - "Zid-" like "Cid" with a "z," and then "-ane."
Eiko - "Eek-" and then "-o."

I know, this isn't really a professional way of explaining how to pronounce these names, but I hope that I've given some of you clueless people some hints on how to say them. And, hopefully, no one will pronounce the name Rinoa like "Rhino-a" or Tifa like "Tie-fa," or "Eiko" like "Echo."
